Joey tribute: 1996 - 2007
Joey enjoyed perfect health throughout his life. However, on 5th March 2007, he suddenly fell ill and was unable to stand up properly and also lost his appetite. He was immediately taken to the vets, where he was excellently cared for and kept in overnight for observation. The following day, he appeared to be responding well to treatment (it was at first thought he had an infection of some sort) and he was kept in for a further night.
On 7th March, the vet said that Joey was still unable to stand up properly and there was a possibility he could have a brain tumour. Joey was kept in again overnight but his condition didn't improve. On 8th March 2007, Joey was put down as it was unlikely that any operation would be successful.
It was very sad, as Joey was a fantastic character and we had grown very fond of him. However, he led a superb life and had perfect health for his ten years alive.
Videos and more photos of Joey can be seen in the Photos of H & J and Videos of H & J sections.
